SUCCESSFUL JOB
SEEKING AT THE PBEO JOB FAIR
Process for Job
Seekers
1.
Registration
a.
Pre-Registration
b. On-Site
2. Finding
Job Leads
a.
Visit the Job Posting Room. Your BADGE is required at all times.
b.
View the posted jobs – note the ones that interest you and record the
job number, club name, position and category.
c. Use
the PBEO Workroom to transfer that information (job number, club name,
position and category) along with how you can be contacted while in New
Orleans onto your resume in the upper right corner of the FRONT of your
resume.
d. Deposit
the resume(s) in the appropriate Resume Drop Box (by job number) on the
table located outside the PBEO Office.
e. Your
resumes will be placed in the appropriate organization’s box in the
office as soon as possible for club reps to pick up. Without very
accurate information noted in 2c above, the staff cannot be certain to
direct your resume to the intended destination.
f. Keep
checking the job posting room as new jobs will be posted throughout the
Job Fair.
g. NOTE:
We have no control over the club reps. They are at the Winter Meetings
attending various sessions as well as looking for competent help. They
stop by as time allows, therefore, we cannot tell you when they will be
picking up resumes.
3. Interviewing
a. As
the club reps pickup and review resumes, many will want to interview
some of the applicants. They are given Interview Schedule Forms to
complete and return to the office for posting. The Interview Schedules
will be posted every hour, on the half-hour, by job number.
b. Keep
checking the interview schedules for your name and when found, select a
time to be interviewed and then be there.
4. Please
help us by:
a. Letting
us know when you’ve been offered and accepted a position.
b. Completing
the survey form in your registration materials and leaving it in the box
on the table by the PBEO Office. Additional surveys are available in
the Workroom and in the office. |
